3 Occasions where I get Appreciations

I have got different kinds of appreciations in my work life and I have always been able to sense something different on each appreciation. Now, I am just trying to classify them into different categories. This is purely based on my experience. These are three occasions where I get appreciations.

I did a great job

I get appreciation when I do something good, something at a critical time, something that is not my responsibility. I get appreciation when my work really made someone’s day better. For example, a curious developer found a solution in my blog tutorial says “Thanks” from his heart. This kind of appreciations are the most genuine one and It becomes the fuel to do more.

I need to do a (great) job

People appreciate me when they need to get done something by me. People even appreciate trivial things because they have bigger plans for me. When people appreciate for smaller things, just understand that people are trying to motivate you to get things done.

I did a bad job

Yep, Sometimes I get appreciated for doing a bad job. This is more like sarcasm. This kind is called Vanja Pughazhchi Ani(வஞ்ச புகழ்ச்சி அணி) in Tamil literature.

Everybody gets appreciations, The smart ones know the true appreciations.
